PBR Scout Day: Preview the 5 Star Carolina Vipers

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

This Sunday Prep Baseball Report of North Carolina will begin its winter events and the 2018 Scout Days.  PBR will be at The Athletic Barn in Waxhaw, NC to get a first look at the talented rosters in the 5 Star Carolina Viper program.

At the end of this past fall, two programs PBR worked out last year as part of the 2017 Scout Days, merged.  The 5 Star brand is a nationally known program that has teams in regional areas and will occasionally combine some of their top talent for national events.  The Carolina Vipers were an up and coming program, working out of The Athletic Barn that has seen many of their 2018 graduates commit and sign early.  The merger allows the development process of the two programs to combine forces, enhancing their player identification and development.

The players attending the PBR Scout Day on January 14th will run through a modified pro-style workout.  Position players will go through an offensive and defensive workout, receiving updated verified statistics, a trusted evaluation, and a professionally cut video, all added to their PBR Profile.  Pitchers will throw a controlled bullpen, also receiving a full PBR Profile.  At the conclusion of the workout, PBR North Carolina Director of Scouting, Brandon Hall, a 15 year D1 Recruiting Coordinator, will lead a recruiting seminar navigating players and families through NCAA rules and best practices during the recruiting process.

PBR Scout Days

PBR runs open events and team scout days in order to identify players and update their information for the 800+ college coaches and pro scouts that subscribe to PBR.  A team scout day enables PBR to control more of the cost for the players involved, allowing them the ability to update all of their information, including a video of their pro-style performance.  A team scout day includes the following:

  • Full pro-style workout for each player in attendance
  • Verified stats and a trusted evaluation from an independent source with a college / pro scouting background
  • Updated, professionally cut video to connect with 800+ college coaches and scouts
  • Full PBR Profile with a head shot, updated information, updated statistics, an evaluation, and video
  • Post event stories (typically 3 or more) that feature each player and their performance, while building the brand of the team involved
