PBR Spotlight Game: #2 Wadswoth vs #23 Brecksville-Broadview Heights

Hudson – In the second district semi-final game of the evening, #2 Wadsworth put their undefeated season on the line against #23 Brecksville-Broadview Heights.

The Grizzlies wasted no time showing why they are the #2 ranked team in division one in the state of Ohio. They jumped on the Bee’s starting pitcher Dan Cody for four runs in the first inning. They would later score single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings on their way to a 7-0 victory.

The Wadsworth offense was led by two seniors. Kyle Pennington (Baldwin Wallace commit) tripled in the first inning plating two runs and Alex Laikos (Kent State commit) recorded two singles and a double.

Taking the mound for the number two ranked Grizzlies was senior right-hander Nick Bebout. The Brecksville batters had no answer for the Walsh University commit. Bebout struck out ten batters while allowing three hits and walking none. He kept the Bee’s bats guessing all night long.

With the win the Grizzlies improve their record to 27-0. They return to action on Wednesday May 20th against #3 ranked Walsh Jesuit. With the loss, Brecksville-Broadview Heights fell to 21-6 on the season.
