ELIDA, OH - The Bulldogs of Bloom-Carroll blow out the Genoa Comets in their Regional Final matchup.

The Genoa team struggled all game long to find a rhythm, as they went on to walk nine and commit six errors.

In the top of the first, the Bulldogs were able to score the first run of the day with the help of some Genoa miscues.  After a walk and two errors, freshman Seth Paszke stroked an RBI single giving his team a 1-0 lead.

Bloom-Carroll starter Jacob Newton was on top of his game on the mound keeping the Comet hitters off balance.

Notching a couple more runs in the 2nd was once again the Bulldog squad.  Recording an RBI single was senior Blake Smith, and shortly after junior Jarrett Peters doubled to the left-center gap plating their second run of the inning.

In the 4th, the Bulldog lineup blew the game open.

The Bloom-Carroll lineup started the 4th inning by loading the bases with one out.  The big blow came when Seth Paszke came up clutch again, clearing the bases with a three RBI double.  Then with two outs Roger Danison added another run with an RBI single.  With a 7-0 lead things looked well in Bloom-Carroll's hands.

Bulldog pitcher Jacob Newton kept cruising through the Genoa lineup.  Newton did allow a run in the 4th, making the score 7-1.  On the day, Newton threw five strong innings striking out five, and allowing one run to pass.

With the game well in hand, Bloom-Carroll added a run in the 6th as they came away with the 8-1 victory.

Bloom-Carroll is now headed to Huntington Park for a tough state semi-final game against Hamilton Badin.
