PBR Spotlight Game: Franklin vs Lincoln-Sudbury

The Franklin Panthers defeated the Lincoln-Sudbury Warriors by a score of 12-5 in what was a largely attended game by Division I, II, and III coaches.

Senior left-hander Kyle Skidmore earned the win for Franklin after firing 5.1 innings of five run ball. Skidmore operated 75-77 mph for most of the game, while displaying a good feel for his breaking ball and fielding his position well, recording four putouts and picking off two Warrior runners.

Offensively, Franklin was led by their lead-off hitter, Nick Burgos, who added three hits, while reaching base five times and scoring four runs. Shortstop Nick Santucchi provided the thump with a grand slam to deep right field, while first baseman Zane Byrne also smashed a 360 foot two-run home run off the scoreboard in left center.

For Lincoln Sudbury, who made four errors on the day, second baseman Scott Holzwasser had a good day at the plate, adding a three-run home run and a single to left field, while right fielder and lead off hitter Chris Galland also showed well, displaying a strong arm in the outfield and on the mound, while providing two hits and stealing a base.
