PBR Tennessee has announced its 2021 showcase schedule for the upcoming winter circuit, slated to kick off this weekend on Jan. 2, 2021, leading up to the start of the TSSAA high school baseball season.

If you’re curious to learn more about the Prep Baseball Report’s showcase structure, here’s an idea of what you can expect while attending and following a PBR showcase.

ABOUT PBR SHOWCASES

Since 2005, Prep Baseball Report’s mission has been to provide the most credible scouting and event platform to help players and recruiters alike. As baseball has evolved, so have we.

PBR has recently partnered with global leaders in the baseball technology and analysis space to deliver an unparalleled in-event and post-event experience. Now, at events across the country, players will receive actionable data from their event performance, captured by industry-leading technologies, so they can elevate their game and get to the next level. Players will now receive actionable, post-event data from our industry-leading partners, including: TrackMan, Blast Motion, and Driveline. In addition, players’ PBR profiles will host edited video from their showcase performance, complete with a scouting report and verified event statistics. Of the current 120 D1 commits in the Tennessee HS ranks (2021-2024), over 70% have attended a PBR TN Showcase during their HS career and almost 89% have PBR video hosted in their player profiles. For the near 200 Senior commits (2021), over 80% have video hosted in their player profiles.

Below, we’re briefly outlining each of the upcoming showcases on the 2021 calendar, two of which are open to all high school-aged players (classes 2021 through 2024). Three of the others are events prospects can attend by invitation only, Preseason All-State Showcase Series, and the remaining is the prestigious PBR Super 60 Showcase in Franklin, WI.

Tennessee PRESEASON I.D.

The Showtime Sports Academy has even a staple of the PBR TN winter showcase circuit, and they will host our opening event, the TN Preseason ID. Our ID series in 2020 helped our staff identify some hidden gems in Tennessee,  helping produce 20 commits.  ID events are designed for players seeking confirmed statistics and quality video to put your name on the radar heading into the HS season.  ID events play a critical part in identifying little known talent and earning invitations to top select events, such as PBR Future Games and TN/KY Border Battle.  This event is open to all high school prospects and nearly at full capacity.

Preseason All-state Showcase

Since 2015, our staff makes the trip to Showtime Sports Academy in Franklin to host the our premium preseason event.  The Preseason All-State Showcase brings about 80 of Tennessee's up-and-coming players, and generally helps us learn of a few new uncommitted seniors, as well as some of the brightest underclassmen.  From 2020, the event has boasted 15 commits, including '22 SS Cooper Clapp (Hardin Co; Notre Dame commit), '22 C Logan Poteet (Powell; Vanderbilt commit), '21 RHP Jameson Nephew (Siegel; Tennessee Tech signee), and '21 LHP Cory Francis (Summertown; UT Martin commit).  The showcase has two sessions options with January 17th or 18th (MLK Day).

PBR Super 60 (Franklin,WI)

This is the 19th Annual Super 60 Pro Showcase.

This prestigious, invitation-only event features only the top draft prospects in the Prep Baseball Report’s expansive coverage area. Over the last 18 years, the Super 60 has become the most heavily scouted preseason event for potential draft picks. The primary purpose of the Super 60 is to give professional area scouts, cross-checkers and scouting directors a head start to the high school season. The event is for draft-eligible Class of 2021 prospects.

Last year, over 100 professional scouts of all levels were in attendance. Most Major League teams had 4-6 scouts of all levels in attendance. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.
