PBRT Florida Fall Open, Takeaways: Uncommitted Upperclassmen

By PBRT Staff

From Sept. 29 through Oct. 1, Prep Baseball Tournaments held the PBRT Florida Fall Open at IMG Academy’s baseball complex in Bradenton, Fla. This event was separated into two divisions, an Upperclass (2024 and 2025 classes) and an Underclass (2026 and 2027 classes), with 33 teams participating in the tournament across the two divisions.

Florida Burn’s 2024 Scout Team claimed the tournament’s Upperclass trophy, while Ostingers Baseball Academy’s 2026 (Macaluso) squad earned the Underclass title.

Within this piece, we’ll be drawing some added attention to the uncommitted upperclassmen from this event who warrant closer attention following the weekend, after putting together strong performances at IMG Academy.

FOLLOW THESE UNCOMMITTED PLAYERS

The following players are listed in alphabetical order:

+ RHP Trevor Carter (Sebring HS, FL, 2024) showed easy mid-80s velocity for FBH Angels on Sunday, up to 86 mph. Listed at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Carter has a lot going for himself as an uncommitted senior given his physique as well as the secondary feel he showed over the weekend. His changeup, 78-81 mph, is deceptive, with arm-side depth/fade, and he can spin an above-average curveball, 73-74, with control.
