Pennsylvania Daily Roundup for May 1st



No. 1 Norwin 3,  Latrobe 2
Latrobe was able to do something to the Norwin (15-0) bats that hasn’t been done this year. The Nights were held to just four hits on the afternoon, but they were still able to muster three runs and came away with the win.  Cam Onderko was 1-for-3 with two RBI and J.J. Matejvevic was 1-for-3 with the other RBI. Nick Cubarney scattered nine Latrobe hits, yielding just one run to pick up the win.

No. 5 Nazareth 7,  Easton 2
Dan Horvath held Easton to five hits over seven strong innings leading Nazareth (14-3) to the win. Karl Keglovitz (pictured below) drove in two runs with a double to ignite the Nazareth offense.

No. 6 Malvern Prep 7, Chestnut Hill 6
Malvern Prep rallied for two runs in the seventh inning to move to 20-5 on the season. MP got doubles from Drew Hayes and Joe Ravert as well as triples from Matt Greskoff and Nick Bateman to lead the offense.

Gettysburg 3,  No. 9 Northern York 2
Northern York (12-4) was held to just five hits as Gettysburg pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season. Gettysburg, which came into the game 0-15, picked up its first win of the season when they scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit.

No. 11 Liberty 14,  Northampton 5
Liberty trailed 1-0 going to the bottom of the second, scored five runs, and never looked back.  Scoring in every inning but the first, Liberty (14-1) turned a tight game into a blowout.
