Player Spotlight: Andrew Stanley

Andrew Stanley will represent Arkansas in the PBR Futures Games at Grand Park Sports Complex just out side of Indianapolis, Indiana later this week. Stanley will compete with PBR Team select featuring top players from Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, and Louisiana.

He earned is spot by quality on the field play. His most recent performance at the Underclass Games, put Stanley over the top. He showed he has continued to grow as a player, making strides in all phases of his game. He has separated himself as the top catching prospect in the 2018 from Arkansas. Below you will find his evaluation from the games.

2018 C Andrew Stanley, Searcy High School
Stanley is a 5-foot-8 165-pound catcher with an athletic frame and build. He is runs a 4.21 home to first. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a small hand load, a short stride and a compact swing to produce line drives. He does a sound job maintaining balance through extension, and has shown an advanced feel for the barrel. Defensively he throws pop times 1.97-2.04 accurately, from a short arm action. He receives with proper angles and soft hands. He shows solid technique and a high motor during blocking drills. Overall Stanley is an advanced hitter with solid athleticism that will allow to play a secondary position if necessary.
