Power 25 Ranking: Week 6

Top 10

+ The top five in the state continued to roll right along as all five went undefeated. No. 1 Colleyville Heritage took care of Azle 8-0, and 8-1. No. 2 Argyle only played one game but it was a big one against Decatur. 2019 RHP Chad Ricker went the distance on Friday in a 2-1 win, allowing one run on one hit and tallying 12 strikeouts. No. 3 Lake Travis is still undefeated at 21-0 after going 4-0 with wins over Buda Hays, Anderson, and close wins over Austin Bowie and Dripping Springs. Jimmy Lewis threw his 2nd CG of the season and collected his 5th win in a row, while Brett Baty and Austin Plante paced the offense. No. 4 Cypress Ranch continues to ride strong pitching, not giving up a single hit last week on the backs of potential first rounders J.J. Goss and Matthew Thompson. Georgetown took care of Bastrop in two games by a combined score of 23-1, then the Eagles defeated Cedar Park 8-5 on Saturday.

+ No. 6 Calallen (19-2-1) and No. 7 Veterans Memorial (23-3-1) each move up as they collect more wins. Calallen beat Loredo Martin 14-2, and Tuloso-Midway 3-1. Vets went 3-0 last week, outscoring opponents 34-3. Their offense is steam rolling by teams, outscoring opponents by double digits in last four games.

+ No. 8 Houston Memorial is now 7-0 in District (19-2-1 Overall) with a two game sweep over Jersey Village.

+ No. 9 Prosper split a series with Dallas Jesuit, running into the buzz-saw 2019 LHP Jack Lynch, who won PBR Texas Pitcher of the Week.


Who’s Hot

+ No. 12 Kinkaid contines to climb up the rankings at 18-2. 2019 RHP Stone Simmons had a strong perfomance on the mound in a 1-0 win over Hosuton Lutheran. They are the highest ranked private school in Texas.

+ No. 13 Wakeland is now 9-0 in District (17-6-1 Overall) with a two game sweep over Lebanon Trail.

+ No. 15 Southlake Carroll has won 9 of their last 11 games with one of those losses coming to Colleyville Heritage. The Dragons swept Byron Nelson last week 5-2, and 8-6.

+ No. 21 Reagan took it to Madison and Roosevelt by a combined score of 32-4. The Rattlers have won 10 games in a row.

New Team

+ Tomball enters the ranking this week at No. 25 with a 7-0 District record (16-1-2 Overall). The Cougars have an impressive resume with wins over Tomball Memorial (2), Katy, and Katy Tompkins.


Bubble Teams

+ Magnolia West is now 16-3 Overall, 6-0 District and they have a huge series against Magnolia (12-6) this week. Magnolia swept College Station last week.

+ Round Rock is now 16-8 (7-0 District) with marquee wins over Southlake Carroll, Coppell, Kingwood Park, and a close loss to Lake Travis.

+ Gregory-Portland is now 19-2.

+ Tomball is 16-1-2 and 7-0 District.
 

+ Houston Stratford is now 15-5, 8-0 in District.

+ Allen 18-4, 4-0 District.

+ Aledo 18-2, 4-0 District.

+ Ridge Point is 15-2, 6-0 District.
