Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

With the 2019 Preseason All-State Showcase just two days away we thought it would be interesting to look back on the past six years of an event that began in 2013. Today we highlight six of the top pitching performances in event history.

Top position player performances

2014

Current St. Louis Cardinals farmhand Nick Dunn (Shikellamy), who starred at Maryland, stood out in the second edition of the event. A natural infielder, Dunn chose to showcase his abilities behind the plate flashing sub 2.0 pop times while also showing power potential from both sides of the plate offensively.

2016

Year four was highlighted by current Coastal Carolina catcher Joe Singley (Archmere Academy, DE) posting an event record 1.81 pop time and current Toledo outfielder John Servello (Hollidaysburg) showcasing the skills that helped him garner MAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2018.

2017

Current Pitt freshman Kyle Hess (Donegal) turned heads with power potential in his left-handed swing while also shattering the event record for the 60-yard dash with a laser timed 6.44.

2018

Current uncommitted Emmaus junior Wyatt Henseler showcased the two-way skill set that earned him a spot on the Team Pennsylvania roster for the 2018 PBR Future Games. Ranked No. 14 in the PA Class of 2020, Henseler flashed a 95 mph bat exit velocity, 90 mph arm strength across the diamond and sat 87-88 off the mound to top off his impressive day.

This year's event will include 97 position players and 112 total prospects over the course of two days with a chance to be added to the list of the top position players to have participated over the past eight years.
