Preseason All-State Showcase: Schedule Released (Feb. 20)

Jared Carrier
Scouting Director, New York

We'd like to welcome you ahead of time to Monday's Preseason All-State Event to be held at Sport Center 481 in East Syracuse, NY (6841 Collamer Rd). Our largest preseason event has taken many weeks of planning and we are looking forward to a great day.

A large part of success is to be efficient with our time but yet not to sacrifice the integrity of the event. Having everyone on the same page on Monday will be crucial in us achieving that goal. Below you will see some key points about the day:

  • Position Player Check-in will start at 7:45am. We will not start any earlier then that due to setup. You will receive your numbered shirt for the day and have your headshot taken. Pitcher Only check in will be at 11:45am.

  • At 8:45am we will get stretched out with an active warmup.

  • At 9am we will start with an offensive rotation that will feature the following: Batting Practice, Shag/bucket group, Exit Velocity Station, Diamond Kinetics Swing Tracker  and 60. Players are to stay within their group until it is time to rotate.

  • Batting Practice will end prior to 11am. At this time Outfielders will get their arms loose first (during the last BP rotation) and then do their defensive workout. While Outfielders are going, Catchers will get their arms loose...followed by infielders.

  • If you are not a dual position player (meaning a pitcher as well). You are free to leave after your defensive workout. Catcher's will need to stay the duration of the event. EX: An outfielder may be done by 11:45am, followed by infielders shortly thereafter.

  • Pitcher's will have ample time to prepare themselves to throw. There will be a systematic breakdown of the order....1) Play catch 2) Warmup mound 3) Mechanical video mound 4) take a break 5) Live mound. Once you throw we will have you run the 60 as well and then you can leave. Pitcher Only's will go first followed by dual players.

We ask the following:
  • Every time it's your turn to hit, workout defensively or pitch, please show your number to the camera.
  • Hustle station to station, help with pick ups in BP and assist in moving of equipment by our staff.
  • Please DO NOT ask our staff about your numbers as we are often paying attention to the next player working out and it can be distracting and lead to you being told potentially inaccurate information.
Follow Up:
  • Within 36-48 hours all of the stats from the day and profile updates will be posted. Videos are usually complete within 2 weeks.
  • Scouting reports that go in the profiles are usually complete within 3-4 weeks. We take these serious and do not run through them without attention to detail.

Thank you for taking the time to go over this. Looking forward to a great event on Monday.
