Scouting Report

7/25/17: Home to 1st: 4.54, Position Velocity: INF-80, Exit Velocity: 85

Athletic sophomore middle infielder that uses balanced setup at the plate with strong frame and bat speed. 6-foot-1, 195 pounder uses athletic lower half to work to the baseball, back elbow and back knee crunch together with lower half getting through the baseball, back knee driving under the upper body, finishing stacked under the head. Uses quiet, balanced leg lift with good rhythm, small hip coil to load onto the back side. Spins/rolls on front foot strike, landing slightly closed off at times. Drives baseball to all fields with advanced bat speed and line drive approach. Frame and tools to start lifting the ball with pop. Smooth actions in the middle infield, plays with feel and instincts. Hands work soft and athletic to field, long low arm action across the diamond. Baseball travels with carry and accurate to base. Exchange clean, more foot speed to finish throws/gain momentum across the diamond. Uncommitted top 15 in 2020 class.

2/25/17: The stocky, 6-foot-1, 195 pound infielder has sure hands with athletic movements up the middle. Transfer is clean, footwork is fluid. Plays through the ball consistently. Long arm action with accurate throws topping at 82. On the mound, Szynski sat 81-83, touching 84. Arm action is long, loose with a high 3/4 slot. Smooth rhythm, stays in direction. Change-up is thrown with a stiff wrist and some fade. Curveball has some late depth at 69-72 with 11/5 shape. Left-handed hitter has a leg kick and back hand load. Bat path is level, creates some extension. Maintains good balance with good use of lower half. Bat speed has improved, topping at 90mph in exit velocity. High follow in 2020 class.

9/18/16: Younger brother of 2016 4th round pick Skylar Szynski, Camryn possesses an athletic 6-foot, 185 pound frame with wide shoulders. On the mound he works from a short, loose high 3/4 arm action. Shows easy effort with smooth rhythm in the delivery. Shoulders are level and has good direction. Showed plus command of a 79-80 (82) fastball with late run/sink action. Changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed at 71-74 with occasional arm side run and sink action. Good command of both pitches. Defensively, the SS showcased fluid footwork and athleticism. Glove work is above average. Has carry on his throws across the diamond at 79. Ran a 7.35-60. Offensively, the LHH hits from an athletic setup. Uses a slight leg kick, smooth load. Short, level path, above average bat speed for his age. Consistently produced line drives during BP. High exit velocity of 82.
