Preseason College Polls Littered With Pennsylvania Colleges

By Greg Williams
Pennsylvania Director of Scouting

As noted in our review of the Early Signing Period, geography plays a huge role in where Pennsylvania high school players find a home on a college campus. Public institutions and schools with smaller budgets predominantly recruit players within a relatively short radius of campus. A number of these Pennsylvania schools, which have rostered a preponderance of in-state high school products, have been recognized by Collegiate Baseball in its preseason polls. Clicking on a school name below will redirect to that program's roster, where the Pennsylvania players helping the program to its success are listed.

  • Preseason #3 Mercyhurst is coming off a season in which it went 40-11 on its way to PSAC West and Atlantic Regional championships, and an appearance in the NCAA Division II World Series. The Lakers will open their season on January 30th at Stillman College (GA).
  • Preseason #18 Millersville went 45-11 while finishing as the runner-up to Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Regional, losing 2-0 in the regional title game. Milersville will open their season on February 5th at preseason #21 Winston-Salem State (NC).
