The Buzz

Curcio is an athletic OF listed at 6-foot-0, 170 pounds. He attends Wayne Hills High School, a solid academic and athletic high school located in Passaic County. He receives most of his exposure, however, with Time to Sign Sports, an excellent program geared towards giving their athletes the entire recruiting experience through guidance, showcases, tournaments, and a very unique bus tour. Curcio’s ability along with the exposure he gains with Time to Sign will make him a highly followed college prospect this summer. I got a good look at him last night at Time to Sign’s event at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

Scouting Report

Curcio is a very dynamic athlete and moves very athletically all over the field. He showcased the quickest 60-time of the day with a sub 6.8. He plays the game quickly in the outfield, which works at times to his disadvantage. In Time to Sign’s event last night, Curcio displayed a strong arm with good carry on his throws but was wildly inaccurate when throwing to third base from right field. He did work through the ball well and I’m excited to see the athlete tested with some fly balls this summer.

The lefty swinger really stands out offensively. He hits from an open stance with some athleticism in his base and a lower hand set, just below shoulder height. He has some rhythm pre-pitch and his hands work back to a good hitting position smoothly. He does have a nice line drive swing; his fast twitch athleticism is evident in his bat speed. He squared plenty of balls up tonight in his batting practice sessions. There is a lot to like with Curcio and although he is a little bit raw both offensively and defensively, the repetitions he gets this summer will allow his athleticism to take over.
