Q and A with Capital Commit Ryan Barnette (Fairmont)

Ryan Barnette, 1B, Fairmont

PBR: Why did you choose Capital?
Barnette: I chose Capital because it is a great school with great facilities and a really cool coaching staff. Also its close to home so my parents can make it to my games.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Barnette: I was also considering Davenport University and Baldwin Wallace.

PBR:  Where did the coaching staff first see you compete?
Barnette:  They first saw me compete at a tournament in Indiana.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on
campus?
Barnette:  They expect me to be a clutch hitter for them when they call my number.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help Capital baseball?
Barnette:  My biggest strength as a player would be my hard work and leadership. I plan on bringing it to Capital and not only work hard, but make every one else work harder also.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Barnette:  The biggest impact on me with baseball would be the man that introduced me to the sport, my dad (Scott Barnette). If it weren't for all of the long days and money spent I wouldn't be in this situation.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?
Barnette:  I play summer ball for the Dayton Classics. The most exciting thing would have to be the entire season. I love every moment with those guys.

PBR: What were your stats last season for Fairmont?
Barnette:  My stats last year for Fairmont, I'm actually not too sure. I try not to be all into the whole stats thing.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Ohio?
Barnette:  The toughest pitcher I have faced in Ohio would have to be Taylor Cherry.
