Q@A With Dan Bowman RHP/1B, Central Cambria

Dan BowmanPBR:  Where are you in the process of deciding on a college?
Bowman:  At the moment I am still exploring and researching college programs.

PBR:  What schools are you currently considering?
Bowman:  Currently I am considering schools like Radford, Hartford, Penn, Winthrop, Old Dominion, and UConn.

PBR:  Is distance from home a factor in your decision?
Bowman:  Distance is not a huge factor in my decision process. I am willing to take my talents wherever I have the best shot at helping a program.

PBR:  Where have college coaches been able to see you?
Bowman:  Coaches have been able to see me at numerous showcases in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. They have also seen me at Perfect Game sectioned national tournaments in Fort Myers, Florida and Marietta, Georgia.

PBR:  What position do you anticipate playing in college?
Bowman:  In college I am projecting myself as a right handed pitcher but I would hope to get some playing time at first base also.

PBR:  What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help your team?
Bowman:  I feel my biggest strength as a player is my ability to communicate. I feel that if I step forward and make myself heard on the field it can help pick up other teammates and show that communication is key.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from this past summer?
Bowman:  In the summer I play for Flood City Elite out of Altoona, PA. This past summer we attended the World Wood Bat National Tournament in Georgia. It was the biggest tournament I have ever attended and my most memorable experience was playing at the East Cobb complex and tying the eighth ranked East Cobb Titans after sitting through an hour long rain storm.

PBR:  What is your current GPA?
Bowman:  My current GPA is a 3.4, and increasing going into my senior year.

PBR:  What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your/this season?
Bowman:  For my junior season my goals are to just play my best and help show what sets me apart from other players in the nation. For my team our goals are to just get better day by day and show that we can contend with some of the best teams in our division.
