Q&A with Missouri Commit SS Brock Daniels (Vianney, 2021)

Brock Daniels (Vianney) became the first player in Missouri's 2021 class to name his school. Daniels will be playing at the University of Missouri after high school.
Daniels Daniels is a 5-foot-11 160-pound left-handed hitting shortstop. Daniels is athletic on the infield with a 73 mph positional velo. The lefty hitter flashes power to the pull side and has a gap-to-gap approach. He has been timed at 7.52 in the 60-yard dash and has an 82 mph exit velo.
Below is a look at how Daniels chose Mizzou.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it as expected? Easy/Difficult?Daniels: My original expectations about the recruiting process was that I would not have to worry about recruiting until later in my career. I also thought it would be difficult to getting the college to offer me that I wanted (Mizzou).
PBR: Did location or distance from home play a factor in your decision?
Daniels: It played a little bit of a factor for being a to play for my hometown college team. And not having to drive a long way when I wanted to see my family.
PBR: Where did Missouri first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Daniels: Mizzou first saw me at their 2016 Winter Christmas Camp.
PBR: Who is the best player you have faced in your state, and why?
Daniels: Christian Little he is the best I have faced because he has a overpowering fast ball, that he can locate on command. He has one of, if not the best, change up and curveball. He consistently can locate those two pitches also.
PBR: What do you do in the offseason to keep yourself in baseball shape and prepare for the upcoming season?
Daniels: I workout daily. I take infield and hit twice a week.
PBR: What is the most memorable moment in your baseball career to this point?
Daniels: Hitting a homerun at Kansas City Kansas Community College 390 feet. that give us the lead in the semi finals.
PBR: What do you like most about Missouri and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Daniels: I like their coaches, I like the SEC, and I like that is very close to where I live. Mizzou also has good academics
PBR: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you? Was there a particular game or event that you feel turned the corner for you?
Daniels: The process started heating up after the PBR event at Central Missouri State.
PBR: Where do you play in the summer? And what has been your most memorable experience with them?
Daniels: I play for the St. Louis Prospects Scout Team. The most memorable experience is winning national events.
