Quick Hits: Day Two 2022-2023 Arizona State Games

Will Arnold
Arizona Director of Scouting

Cayne Killion, LHP, Evoshield Sandlot
2023. Killion has the best pitchability in the tournament so far. He stays out of the middle of the plate with his mid 70s fastball that has arm side run and sink. His change up is his best pitch, throwing it in any count with good arm speed and depth to both lefties and righties. Sweeping breaking ball is a good pitch to keep lefties from getting comfortable.

Keenan Proctor, OF, USA Prime
2022. After sitting out his high school season with an injury, Proctor looks like he hasn't missed a beat. He is a well above average athlete and it plays in games. The left handed hitter gets good reads off the bat and runs well enough to cover a lot of ground in CF. He swings with intent and drives the ball from gap to gap and is a base stealing threat.

Tyler Acton, SS, AZ Athletics
2023. Acton has a smooth left handed swing, staying inside the ball and driving the ball through the middle of the field consistently with a high contact percentage. He is a versatile player, hopping on the  mound working his fastball up to 78 MPH. He showed the ability to control the strike zone with his fastball, using a slurvy breaking ball as his off speed pitch.

Isaiah Jackson, OF, Tucson Champs
2023. The physical left handed hitter was limited to DH, with a nagging injury but did damage in the first two days out. Pulled balls hard consistently, looking to do damage through his at bats. He is an above average athlete and has plenty of projection remaining in his already mature frame.

Marcus Delgado, RHP, Tucson Champs
2022. Tall, athletic build from a high 3/4 arm slot. Uses lower half well to get down the mound. Threw two pitches for strikes, with a fastball up to 85 MPH, holding his velo. He worked ahead of hitters the entire day, making it tough for hitters, with his two playable pitches.

Thomas Dechesaro, RHP, AZ T-Rex
2022. Dechesaro threw a four inning no hitter for T-Rex. His fastball was mostly 79-82, finishing the game holding his velo. The fastball had late arm side life to keep hitters off the barrel. He worked ahead of hitters with his fastball and slurve at 66.

Ameer McGee, OF, AZ Thunder
2022. 6' 170-pound frame with strength. Showed some pop in his bat, driving balls to the off gap for extra base hits. Above average runner for his age, getting around the bases well with instincts.
