The TPG II was hosted by Old Dominion University on Wednesday, August 8th. Close to 50 players in the 2020-2022 class from around the Commonwealth performed in front of the PBR Scouting staff and area college coaches. Today we give you some quick thoughts on players who stood out at Wednesday's event.

-Heritage (Leesburg) 2021 RHP Grant Barberich showed a fastball up to 80 and a frame that offers projection.

-Battlefield 2020 C Peter Benevides showed speed and athleticism as well as some batspeed and the potential for gap power. Quick release behind the plate.

-Osbourn 2021 LHP/1B Alex Brown got up to 80 on the mound with a quick arm and also showed some strength at the plate.

-Centreville 2020 SS Gavin Collins showed athleticism and a quick bat with power potential and strength at contact.

-Nansemond River 2020 OF Bryson Dansberry is an exciting athlete who showed speed in the outfield the potential to be switch hitter at the next level.

-Cape Henry 2021 SS Kyle Edwards had a big arm on the infield and showed athletic actions and quickness that should allow him to remain a left side infielder. Has potential to be a special prospect.

-William Byrd 2021 C Dylan Hatfield was a defensive game-changer behind the dish, pop times were 1.89-1.96 with accuracy and arm strength. Has power potential as well with solid base at the plate and should be a high end catching recruit.

-Great Bridge 2020 RHP Landon Higgerson (Radford) was up to 83 and showed feel for multiple pitches from multiple arm slots.

-Norfolk Christian 2020 LHP/1B Ty Johnson showed strength at the plate and athleticism from the left side with some pop while also winning "best hair" at the event.

-Battlefield 2020 RHP Jacob Lawler was up to 82 and showed feel for three pitches.

-Kettle Run 2020 RHP Joe Vogatsky touched 85 while sitting 80-83 with a heavy ball and showed the ability to spin a curveball and a quick arm.

-York 2020 RHP Nicholas Willard touched 85 while sitting 81-84 and has a lanky frame. He has a whippy arm that shows more in the tank and should throw harder down the road.

-2021 Jackson Severt is another interesting catching prospect with nice athleticism and footwork, throwing the second best pop at the event with a 1.93. Has a shorter swing path that should develop as he gets stronger.

-2020 Sebastian Silva is an interesting catching prospect. had a 1.98 pop time from behind the dish and liked the left handed swing at the plate. Stays short and works inside ball with quick hands.

-Centreville 2020 Gavin Collins put together one of the top overall workouts on the day while also impressing in the game. A shorter, stout frame showed footspeed and arm strength across the diamond. In game he consistently barrelled the ball throughout.

-Grafton 2020 Tyler Cotten put together one of the better workouts of the event as well, showing a short path at the plate with extension and balance at the plate. Also showed nice defensive ability with arm strength from behind the dish. He continued the trend of solid behind the plate prospects with his 1.95 pop.

-Griffin Boone  showed sound actions that will play in the middle with arm strength and showed the ability to swing it at the plate.

-Jesus Del Valle is an interesting 2021. Looks the part with his athletic frame. Has a rawness to his game that is very interesting. Inconsistent right now that should clean up with time and will be an interesting follow out of NOVA.

-Bryson Dansberry was one of the top outfield prospects out of the event and is one to follow. Loved the first step quickness and his ability to get to the ball. Got rid of the ball quickly and ran well.

-Keep an eye on Dinwiddie SS Kevin Gunn. Showed clean actions from short with arm strength across the diamond (85 mph), him and Edwards tied for event best.

-Keep an eye on Keondre Shelton, middle infield prospect showed quick twitch and athleticism, with a rawness to his game. Very intriguing prospect.
