Kurt Dankovich, RHP, Providence Catholic, 2017
Lewis

Kurt Dankovich1.22.17 - 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed pitcher with a strong frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long, quick arm action. Tall and fall delivery with some effort. Smooth rhythm working in line with home plate. Fastball was straight at 83-86 mph for strikes. Slider has 10-4 shape with sharp, late breaking action at 65-69 mph for strikes. Changeup flashed some fading action at 72-76 mph.




Ryan Schmit, RHP, Prairie Ridge, 2017
Butler

Ryan Schmit1.31.16 - 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-handed pitcher with sloped shoulders. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall online delivery with a square landing and athletic finish. Fastball was firm with slight armside run at 79-81 topping out at 82 mph. Curveball has 1-7 shape with sharp biting action at 66-68 mph. Maintained armspeed on changeup at 72-75 mph for strikes.

 


Cole Raines, RHP, Huntley, 2017

MSOE

Cole Raines1.31.16 - 6-foot, 150-pound right-handed pitcher. Submariner with a long, loose athletic arm action. Online delivery with a square landing and easy effort. Showed good feel for his pitches down in the zone. Threw strikes down in the zone with his fastball at 70-72 mph. Curveball was deceptive with frisbee action and tight rotation at 60-62 mph.

 

 

Drew Wenig, RHP, Riverside Brookfield, 2017
Morton College

Drew Wenig1.22.17 - Recent Morton College commit. 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting RHP/3B. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short arm action. Tall and fall delivery working in line with home plate. Fastball was straight at 75-76 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape with gradual action at 65-66 mph. Changeup was straight at 66-68 mph for strikes. Also threw a splitter at 63-66 mph. At the plate hits from an open stance with a short stride. Gap to gap hitter with a long swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 8.03. Defensively has a long arm action from a high ¾ slot. Threw 69 mph across the infield.

Steven Pattan, C, Alton, 2017
SIU-Edwardsville

Steven Pattan1.18.15 - 5-foot-8, 150-pound lanky right-handed hitting C/SS hits from a wide base, slightly closed stance, short stride, gets foot down early, hands load back, bars out, long level bat path, 76 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, threw 71 mph across the infield from short, over the top arm slot, average hands fielding, quick and fluid footwork, handled all chances cleanly. Behind the plate, pop times ranged from 2.11-2.22 to second, 72 mph from the crouch, quick release, sits high in crouch. Ran a 7.46 60.
