SCHSL 2A Rankings - Week 1

Scouting Director - South Carolina

1. Latta (3-1)
Last Week - 1

- Clemson recruit Dylan Brewer and teammates Deonte Stanley and Russ Rogers have powered this team to a strong start. They take on Carvers Bay this week and then face a huge test in Johnsonville next week.

2. Landrum (6-0)
Last Week - 6

- Coming off of two wins over Blacksburg last week the Cardinals will take on a scrappy Whitmire team and then face off with Greer Middle College, if this team can stay hot their arrow will continue to point upward.

3. Chesterfield (3-1)
Last Week - 4

- Landon Mills is off to a strong start on the mound and he will try to keep that going when the Rams take on Andrew Jackson and North Central this week. 

4. Johnsonville (5-1)
Last Week - 5

- Matthew Bazen, Pierce Fennell and the Flashes are riding high after two wins last week over Hannah-Pamplico. They will be looking to have another good week with Andrews up next.

5. Oceanside (4-2)
Last Week - NR

- The Sharks break into the rankings after a strong start to the 2019 season. TJ Provenzano has been solid on the mound and Cooper Gaskins has paced the offense early on.

6. Batesburg Leesville (4-1)
Last Week - 8

- Chase Rikard and Newberry College recruit Payton Dawkins have the Panthers rolling. Two games against Abbeville this week will be very telling for this team.  

7. Fox Creek (2-3)
Last Week - 3

- The Predators have dropped some tightly contested games early on but Florence-Darlington Tech recruit Hunter Steger and Caleb Baynham will look to get Fox Creek headed in the right direction, with two huge games against Ninety-Six.

8. Barnwell (2-3)
Last Week - 7

- Barnwell made it to the championship game of the Pelion Preseason Tournament, scoring 40 runs in 4 games, and will look to build on that success as they navigate region 5. 

9. Abbeville (2-2-1)
Last Week - 9

- The Panthers have been tested early but Winthrop recruit Matt Ellis and College of Charleston recruit Tyler Overholt lead this talented group into the teeth of region 2 with two games against Batesburg-Leesville. 

10. Hannah Pamplico (4-3)
Last Week - 10

- HP will look to rebound after dropping two games to Johnsonville last week. They get Green Sea Floyds, McBee, and Kingstree twice in what has turned into a huge week for the Raiders. 

NEXT FIVE: Andrew Jackson, Blacksburg, Gray Collegiate, Silver Bluff, East Clarendon
