Shiloh Christian Shuts Out Pea Ridge

By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

Shiloh Christian defeated Pea Ridge 5-0 in a key conference match up, Monday April 3rd. The Saints received a big performance from 2018 RHP Landon Brown, who worked 6 innings, scattered 5 hits, struck out 7 and walked 2, with no runs allowed.

With Brown holding down the Pea Ridge’s offense, it gave his offense time to give a little run support. They struggled early against 2018 RHP Jakota Sainsbury, but broke through for 3 in the 4th. 2018 INF Connor Clark reached on a walk followed by a 2018 OF Jake Nelson double, 2018 OF Connor German, hit a single the other way to drive in two.  They tacked on one more to finish the innings. In the sixth they added two more for good measure to put the game away at 5-0.

In the 7th 2018 INF/RHP Connor Clark came in and worked an efficient inning allowing a hit and striking out 1 on 15 pitches.

Sainsbury was solid on the mound for Pea Ridge in a loss, he did a good job mixing two pitches on a consistent basis, for the most part keeping hitters off balance. Offensively for the Blackhawks, 2019 INF/RHP Tyler O’Dell stood out with solid defense actions, and making loud contact at the plate multiple times during the game.
