The NCAA signing period is slated to start on November 13th. With the start of the signing period upon us, we look to break down each individual Division 2 commitment from in-state prospects, where they are headed and what tools they will bring with them.

Davenport

Overview: Coach Tidey and staff were 32-18 last season with a notable win over Division 1 Central Michigan University. The Panthers land five recruits and they all are athletic guys with high baseball intellect. Parker Brey is a two way prospect that has been up to 90 mph from the outfield and has raw ability on the hill. Logan Hylek is a prime utility player that is strong behind the plate. Gap to gap hitter with sneaky power potential. Smith Casper is a infield/outfield prospect from Brother Rice. Has long levers and has competed against elite competition during high school. Austin Vandermarkt is a mid-80s arm on the mound that features a three-pitch mix. Round out the class is Dominick Cowdrey

Grand Valley State University

Overview: Coach Detillion and staff are looking to improve on last year's season. Three early commits.  A pair of infielders will join GVSU in 2020. Connor Schuman is an elite defensive shortstop that could make an immediate impact. Conner McCormack is an athlete corner infielder that provides a power stick. Kyjuan Rice is another athletic infielder.

Hillsdale Chargers

Overview: Coach Theisen looks to build on the success he's had at Hillsdale the past few years. A year ago they advanced to the NCAA Regionals and continued to set records for their hitting ability. They bring in four recruits and all four are capable of toeing the rubber. Tyler Harris is a two way threat, one of the top arms in the Catholic League league last season and a consistent bat. Line drive hitter with plate discipline. Nathan Waligora has an ideal pitching frame featuring a mid-80s fastball, along with pitching plays a strong third base. Joseph Tedesco is a long projectable LHP with command. Low-80s fastballs with a lean frame. Has an understanding of how to pitch, he keeps batters off balance with his three pitch mix. Kolin Endres is a 6-foot-2, 198 pound RHP capable of pitching in the mid-80s. Hillsdale brings in arms that can make an immediate impact.

Northwood Timberwolves

Overview: Coach Sabol enters his sophomore campaign as the skipper at Northwood. Last season the Timberwolves went 33-21 with a first round exit in the NCAA Midwest Regional. Sabol brings in nine commits during the early signing period. Drek Clark is a two way true left hand prospect. Could potentially see time on the hill and outfield. Myles Beale is an athletic utility prospect that can play all over the diamond. He will be able to help out the team in several positions. Jake Jekielek is another two way prospect that’s mid 80’s off the hill while showing clean actions in the middle of the infield. Alex Cole passes the eye test with a physical make up along with a power left hand bat. Lance Blaszak is a 6-foot-2, 195 pound RHP that has a heavy fastball that has been up to 86 mph. Has a three pitch mix on the hill. Matthew Claerhout is an athletic middle infield prospect with a line drive approach, has a 92 mph exit velocity. William Buck is a mid 80’s RHP with easy arm action he will certainly provide pitching depth. Grant LaMarch is a 6-foot-6, long projectable RHP with clean mechanics he could be the sleeper of the class with a high ceiling. Rounding out the class is Camden Fisher another athletic prospect that will provide strong defensive skills with production at the plate.

Saginaw Valley State Cardinals

Overview: Saginaw Valley was 21-29-1 last season and plan to improve on that with the help of their 10 Michigan early signees. Hayden Jatczak is a consistent RHP that fills up the zone, has been in the mid 80’s paired with high pitch ability. Mikey Gall is a 6-foot-6, long projectable RP that has elite command, along with growing velocity. He is sure to be an impact guy on the hill. Joe Jaruzel is one of the most athletic prospects in the 2020 class. 6.43 runner that has high upside behind the dish but can also play in the outfield. Tyler McLaren is a long wiry framed RHP that has a loose whippy arm action, plenty of room for projected velocity gain. Chase Gruno is a physical framed RHP that provides an upper-80s fastball paired with a bulldog mentality. Kendall Anthes is a lean framed fast arm RHP that runs his fastball up to the mid-80s, he should add depth to their pitching rotation. Ethan Rose provides a strong left hand hitting bat in the line up, he has been a catalyst in the Ypsilanti Lincoln for years. Austin Schweiger is a middle infield prospect that provides top of the order hitting and infield depth. Rounding out the class is Jeff Reseigh a strong defensive catcher that can already call a game as well as control the run game.

Wayne State University

Overview: The Warriors were 35-17 last season and made an appearance in the Midwest Regional. Wayne State brings in two Michigan prospects in their early class. Logan Tobel was a member of the 2017 Team Michigan at Future Games. A two sport athlete that doubles both in the infield as well as outfield will provide a high level athlete. Mitchell Mychajluk is a 6-foot-4, 185 pound long projectable LHP. He will add pitching depth to the Wayne State staff that saw Hunter Brown drafted in the fifth round by the Houston Astros.
