Our weekly Diamond Notes highlights players that were nominated by their coaches for SoCal Player of the Week award. 

The following players had impressive performances during the week of April 30 - May 6, and though not selected as the Player of the Week, they earned special recognition. Players are listed in no particular order.

Alex Pimentel (Villa Park HS): In two games against Canyon, the junior was 4-for-6 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases.

Ryan Kurtz (Rancho Cucamonga HS): Was huge for Rancho last week who were in a must-win scenario in both of their games against Chino HIlls. Kurtz got two wins on the week - one in relief - throwing 10 innings with 7 strikeouts, and allowing 2 earned runs.

Jose Macias (Montebello HS): The senior third baseman finished the week 11-for-13 with 5 home runs and 20 RBI!

Chase Meidroth (Mira Costa HS): The junior shortstop finished the week 4-for-7 with a home run, a double, and 2 RBI as the Mustangs clinched a league title.

Grady Morgan (Laguna Beach HS): Morgan was 5-for-8 with a double, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

Jack Loechner (Laguna Beach HS): Threw 6 innings striking out 8 and allowing only 2 hits in his one start.

Bryce Wooldridge (Glendora HS): The uncommitted senior was 6-for-10 with 4 RBI on the week raising his season average to .489.

Dane Padrnos (Temescal Canyon HS): The uncommitted junior threw a no-hitter against Elsinore HS on 78 pitches. Padrnos struck out 3 and waked two en route to his 6th win on the season.

Brandon Ochoa (Rio Mesa HS): The junior pitcher flirted with a Perfect Game before surrendering a hit in the 7th but still maintained a complete game shutout that included 18 strikeouts. Ochoa was also 5-for-6 with 5 RBI on the day.
