The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

Coach Swenson and the Stephenville Yellow Jackets will rely heavily on their pitching and defense in 2018 as they return six starters and two pitchers from a 23-win team a year ago. Returning to the mound will be District Pitcher of the Year and Honorable Mention All-State RHP Easton Jones. Jones will provide one of the strengths for this Yellow Jackets squad. Offensively and behind the dish C Cody Storrs will look to build on his First Team All-Distrct performance in 2017.
