Spring Update: Who To Watch In Central Michigan

PBR Michigan is here to provide top notch coverage and exposure to players during the high school and summer season. The state of Michigan is full of uncommitted talent, below we will breakdown the state into four regions. West, Central, Southeast and Metro Detroit. Each list will consist of nine uncommitted ball player in the 2020-2022 class to keep an eye on this season.

Catcher

Logan Hylek C / 3B / Grand Ledge, MI / 2020

Report: Versatile prospect that moves all over the diamond. At the plate shows fast hands with a line drive approach. Sneaky power, has drove quite a few balls out the yard over the years. 1.92-2.03 pop time.

Infielders

Sandyn Cuthrell SS / 2B / Cass City, MI / 2020

Report: 6-foot-1, 185 pound two way prospect. Gets it done in the field with shifty hips working through the ball throwing 84 mph across the infield. 6.78 runner that drives the ball at the plate. 90 mph exit velocity.

Trent O'Bryant SS / RHP / Lansing Eastern, MI / 2020

Report: 5-foot-11, 180 pound athletically built prospect. Has his athleticism on full display while on the diamond. 6.99 runner. At the plate showed the ability to lift balls deep into the gap.

Cole Heikkinen RHP / 2B / Holt, MI / 2021

Report: 5-foot-7, 130 pound middle infielder was one of the better defensive infielders we saw during the winter. Clean actions and soft hands in the field. Shows a little flare while working through the ball. Good bloodlines, brother is a pitcher at MSU.

Andrew Atherton SS / OF / Swartz Creek, MI / 2020

Report: 5-foot-10, 160 pound middle infield prospect has a high motor and joyful attitude on the field. Ranges well to both his glove and backhand side. 83 mph infield velocity.

Outfielders

Avain Rivera OF / RHP / Dow, MI / 2020

Report: 5-foot-10, 190 pound strong bodied prospect registered a Future Games record 108 mph exit velocity. A power bat that will hit. 7.01 runner, throws 90 mph from the OF.

Logan Hugo OF / OF / Essexville Garber, MI / 2021

Report: 6-foot-2, 205 pound strong athletic prospect is a bag of tools. As he continues to develop he has everything needed to be considered a high school five tool player. 6.76 runner, throws 90 mph from the outfield and has a 101 mph exit velocity.

Nick Powers LHP / OF / Flushing, MI / 2020

Report: 6-foot-1, 175 pound two way prospect has the ability to patrol centerfield and shut a team down on the mound. Nice movement while pitching and has been up to 85 mph with a four pitch mix. 6.91 runner, who has the ability to handle the bat 91 mph exit velocity.

Pitcher

Carson Collins RHP / SS / Clio, MI / 2020

Report: 6-2, 165-poound righty. Ball comes easy out the hand pounding the zone from a high 3/4 arm angle. Fastball shows arm-side run with the ability to work both sides of the plate, sitting 85-86, touching 88 mph.
