With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: St. Francis DESALES

Team Name: St. Francis DeSales Stallions
Head Coach: Tom Neubert
Division: II
2018 Record: 19-9
Conference Record: Central Catholic League, 6-2 - 1st place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/5

2019 Team Strengths:

  • Hitting
  • Pitching
  • Defense

Coach Outlook: "We have 8 returning letter winners from last year. We lost our #1 pitcher, but have a lot of arms returning. It will be interesting to see are seniors step in and be the leaders that I know they can be. Our off-season has been fantastic and guys are working extremely hard."

PBR Outlook: The 2019 season could be a big one for the Stallions and head coach Tom Neubert. The return of co-player of the year in D-II, Joey Velazquez, is just the start, as the DeSales returns six starters and five arms off a 19-9 season a year ago.
