State Tournament Update: 7A

State Tournaments began Thursday at 7 different location in three corners of the state. Here are the highlights from Day 1 one the 7A State Tournament.

2014 defending state champions, Bryant Hornets fell in the first round to Heritage High School 6-3. Kacey Murphy picked up the win for Heritage. Heritage will advance to play conference rival Bentonville HS this afternoon.

2015 LHP Weston Rogers and the Har-Ber Wildcats came out on top of a pitchers dual against 2016 LHP Dylan Thompson and the Catholic HS, winning the game 1-0. Har-Ber advances to play Cabot High School the No. Seed from the 7A East.

Central High School defeated Rogers High School in the 10 innings. Central scored the game winning run when 2016 C/INf Dakatoh Stafford was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Central advances to play Fayetteville High School.

Fort Smith Southside scores 9 runs in the bottom of the 6^th to erase a 6-0 deficit to beat North Little Rock High School. Mason Edgemon’s grand slam highlighted the big inning for the Rebels. Southside will play Conway High School today.
