The Valley Vikings completed their 2012 season with a 6-15 record under head coach Greg Morris. The Vikings look to improve upon their 2012 campaign, returning 7 starters and 4 pitchers from last year’s squad.

Valley will be led by a couple of seniors this spring.  Jake Richardson, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound RHP/SS and Leighton Scales, a 5-foot-9, 205-pound catcher, will be counted on to be leaders on the field.

Also expected to make big contributions for the Vikings include junior RHP/1B Jacob Whitaker, junior OF/2B Taylor Browning, sophomore OF Kyle Marry, and sophomore OF/3B Chris Kendall, all of whom gained significant varsity experience last season.

With the number of experienced players on the roster this season, look for better things to come for Valley this spring.  They opened the season with a convincing victory over Shawnee and are back in action this evening with a 6:00 home contest against Eminence.
