Top Five Remaining Arms

The 2020 class is riddled with talent both in Southern and Northern Nevada. With a few of these prospects already locked down, a number of high ceiling athletes remain uncommitted. The remaining pitchers in the senior class have shown a ton of upside as they all project to develop more velocity and feel for secondary pitches as their frames continue to develop size and strength. Also remaining in the 2020 class is the #1 ranked left handed pitcher, Noah Glaser, who had a 2.86 ERA in his junior campaign at Bishop Gorman. The top five remaining arms in the senior class are listed as follows.

Bryton Locks RHP / OF / Spring Valley, NV / 2020

Locks, 6'2 185, has developed frame with a strong base that he uses well in his rhythmic, tall-tilt ¾ delivery. He utilizes a hybrid start that allows him to minimize any excess movement. His fastball sits 86-88 with arm side run and sink when he lives low in the zone. He throws a sweeping 10/4 slider as well as a 11/5 curveball that has shown some bite that both live between 69-72. Locks also throws a change-up at 75-76, that has both sink and that could eventually be an above average pitch as he continues to develop feel.

Trevor Meisner RHP / OF / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2020

Meisner, 6’2 170, has a lean, projectable frame that should continue to add velocity as he continues to add weight and strength. He is an athlete on the mound consistent overhead windup that leads into his drop and drive delivery using his legs to get everything he can out of his frame while staying mechanically sound. His fastball sits 85-88 paired with a 12/6 curveball that lives between 75-77. This is a prospect to keep an eye out for as he continues to develop physically.

Noah Glaser LHP / 1B / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2020

Mature, 5-foot-11, 185, Glaser has a compact frame with a developed lower half.  He repeats his delivery with a tendency to spin off a stiff front side.  There is some upside in a consistent ability to gain more extension out front His fastball ranged 78-79 with occasional arm side run. His breaking ball had solid spin, producing depth at 62-63.  Glaser has a tendency to short arm the breaking ball which manufacturers the depth but lacks deception.  He maintains good change of speeds, mostly straight with some hints of fade. The left-hander shows some pitchability and competitiveness which carries him.

Nolan Patterson LHP / 1B / Coronado, NV / 2020

The 6-foot-2 175 Patterson has some upside. With a feel for 3 pitches and a fastball that topped out at 85, he is positioned for some velocity jumps with delivery adjustments.  He throws from a ¾ slot with solid zone feel and pitch definition. Patterson pitches with a slight cross to an upright delivery that may provide more velocity with adjustment. Patterson featured a curveball 69-70 and changeup 73-75. He has natural run on his fastball as well as his changeup.

Caedon Kottinger RHP / OF / Reno, NV / 2020

A developing, 6-0, 160, Kottinger has an athletic build, sloped shoulders with room for weight and strength increases.  Kottinger is a three pitch mix type who repeats his delivery. He utilizes a high leg lift and at balance point has a little backward tilt.  He drifts a bit but has solid area control.  He commands his fastball, 82-84, to both sides of the plate and shows occasional arm side life.  His curve ball, 65-69, has tight spin with consistent depth and flashes bite.  Kottinger’s displays good feel for changeup, 69-72, with sink.  Velocity increases will yield a rotational starter at the next level, command over stuff.
