Top Prospect Games - Player Analysis - 2020 Grads

The Top Prospect Games, originally scheduled for August 18th at the College of Charleston was rescheduled for the 31st. With impending weather the event was ultimately moved to Shipyard Park. The state of the art facility was able to host the event even with inclement weather moving through the area. The turf fields and indoor space were both used to evaluate all aspects of the event. Even with the inclement weather, schedule change, and location change over 45 of the top prospects from across the state showed up and showed out in front of the PBR scouting staff.

Noah Davis 3B / RHP / Chapin, SC / 2020

6-foot-2, 163-pound projectable frame; 3B/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 81 mph. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph.  In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.46. 


 

 

 

 

 

Gunnar Erickson RHP / OF / P27 Academy, SC / 2020

6-foot-5, 195-pound projectable frame; RHP/OF. On the mound, where he showed lightning arm speed to the plate, he used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows easy effort in his delivery. He sat with his fastball at 81-83 mph; and topped out at 84 mph;  which shows hard action and consistent accuracy. had slight action on his tailing changeup. He showed the ability to locate his curveball for a strike at 71-75 mph; throws a sinking curveball that shows consistent accuracy. 


 

 

 

 

 

Myles Hedgecock RHP / Cardinal Newman , SC / 2020

6-foot-3, 180-pound projectable frame; RHP. On the mound, where he showed quick arm speed to the plate, he had a side arm angle with a loose arm action. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. He threw his fastball 74-76 mph; and topped out at 77 mph; has hard action and very consistent accuracy on his tailing fastball. throws a sweeping slider with sharp action. He threw his curveball with consistency at 66-68 mph. USC Lancaster recruit. 


 

 

 

 

 

Hunter Herlong 3B / 1B / Lake View, SC / 2020

5-foot-11, 185-pound mature frame; 3B/1B. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 83 mph. Starts in balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a toe tap just before his swing. Showed quick bat speed, a level swing plane and a level finish. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 76 mph across the diamond.  Showed a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 8.21. 


 

 

 

 

 

AJ Jaworowski 3B / SS / Fort Mill, SC / 2020

6-foot, 165-pound athletic frame; 3B/SS. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 89 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Begins in balanced stance, has a smooth load and uses a short stride just before his swing. Showed an upward swing plane, as well as quick bat speed and a high finish. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 81 mph.  Had a ¾ slot and a short arm action. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.64.

 

 

 

Dustin Kennedy SS / RHP / Robert E Lee, SC / 2020

5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame; SS/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 83 mph. Setup included a wrapping load and athletic stance. Displays a flat swing plane, rapid bat speed and good extension on his finish. Path displayed a line drive approach. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 84 mph; showed sure hands, rhythmic feet and a fluid exchange. Had a loose arm action and a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.6. On the mound, he used a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action while showing lightning arm speed. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort in his delivery. Throws a 2/8 slider 74-77 that shows hard action and very consistent accuracy. He sat with his fastball at 80-83 mph; and topped out at 84 mph; shows hard action on his fastball. 


 

 

 

 

 

Chai Kirshtein 2B / SS / Porter-Gaud, SC / 2020

 5-foot-8, 153-pound; 2B/SS compact athleticism. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 78 mph. Began in balanced stance, had a smooth load and used a leg kick just before his swing. Displayed a level swing plane, as well as rapid bat speed and a high finish. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 71 mph across the diamond; had a quick exchange, soft hands and quick footwork. Had a short arm action and a ¾ slot. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 7.22, runner underway.

 

 

 

 

Jett Kirshtein SS / 2B / Porter-Gaud, SC / 2020

5-foot-8, 155-pound lean frame with projectable strength; SS/2B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 74 mph. During setup, has a quick load then a short stride  Had a level swing plane and quick bat speed, and he ended his swing with a level finish. In the infield, showed an ability to throw across the field at 78 mph. Showed a short arm action and a high ¾ slot with good accuracy. He clocked a 60 time of 7.12 at the event. 


 

 

 

 

 

Christian Londono OF / SS / Beaufort, SC / 2020

5-foot-4, 135-pound slim frame; OF/SS high energy, good motor. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 74 mph. Has a small load then a short stride  Exhibits an upward swing plane, rapid bat speed and a high finish. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 66 mph; footwork was quick and his hands were raw. From the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 73 mph; had a quick exchange and quick feet. Had sporadic accuracy to the bag with a compact arm action. He clocked a 60 time of 7.19 at the event. 


 

 

 

 

 

Seth McElveen 3B / RHP / Lugoff-Elgin, SC / 2020

5-foot-11, 180-pound mature frame; 3B/RHP. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's 92 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Begins in tall stance with a wrapping load, then uses a leg kick to initiate his swing. Displayed rapid bat speed, a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and a high finish. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 80 mph across the diamond; displayed developing footwork, soft hands and a natural exchange. Had a loose arm action with None accuracy to the base. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.18. On the mound, he showed quick arm speed to the plate with a long arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort in his delivery. His fastball came in at 83-84 mph; and topped out at 85 mph;  which had consistent accuracy and hard action. When he stayed on top of his slider (75-75 mph), his location was consistent; showed consistent accuracy. USC Lancaster recruit. 


 

 

 

 

 

Elijah Peter RHP / OF / May River, SC / 2020

6-foot, 170-pound athletic frame; RHP/OF. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 79 mph. Showed a small load. Had a level swing plane, as well as above average bat speed and a level finish. In the outfield, his best throws to the infield topped out at 80 mph;showed a natural exchange, rhythmic feet and raw hands. Used a ¾ slot with a long arm action. During the event, he clocked a 60 time of 7.2. On the mound, he showed a ¾ arm angle and a long arm action with above average arm speed to the plate. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. His fastball was clocked at 80-81 mph; and topped out at 82 mph;  had consistent accuracy and some action on fastball. His curveball (69-69 mph) had the most depth when he located it down by the hitter’s knees; sinking curveball has sharp action. sweeping slider had plus action. 


 

 

 

 

 

Aidan Pridgen OF / 2B / Laurens , SC / 2020

6-foot-1, 187-pound solid frame; OF/2B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. During setup, had a quick load and used a short stride  Displayed a level swing plane, as well as rapid bat speed and a high finish. While in the infield, showed ability to throw up to 77 mph across the field; showed rhythmic feet, soft hands and a natural exchange. In the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 84 mph;displayed quick footwork. Used a ¾ slot with a compact arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 7.19.

 

 

 

 

McKinley Proctor OF / OF / Jefferson Davis, SC / 2020

5-foot-11, 170-pound lean frame; OF/OF. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 76 mph. Began in balanced stance, had a quick load and used a leg kick just before his swing. Shows a flat swing plane and quick bat speed, and he ends his swing with a high finish. His best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 76 mph;showed heavy feet and sure hands. Showing consistent accuracy to the bag, he had a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.52. 


 

 

 

 

 

Peyton Reel 2B / 3B / York Comprensive, SC / 2020

5-foot-10, 140-pound lean frame; 2B/3B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 73 mph. During setup, had a wrapping load then a short stride  Showed raw bat speed, a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and a high finish. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 73 mph. Used a short arm action with a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he recorded a time of 8.06. Limestone recruit.


 

 

 

 

 

JJ Richardson RHP / OF / Hilton Head Island , SC / 2020

5-foot-11, 145-pound athletic frame; RHP/OF. On the mound, he used a short arm action and a ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. throws his sweeping slider with very consistent accuracy. His fastball was 82-83 mph; and topped out at 84 mph; had slight action and consistent accuracy on his tailing fastball. His curveball (65-67 mph) had the most depth when he located it down by the hitter’s knees;  has plus action and very consistent accuracy on curveball. Projectable stuff and good pitch ability. 


 

 

 

 

 

Jordan Spearman C / RHP / D W Daniel, SC / 2020

5-foot-9, 175-pound athletic frame; C/RHP. During batting practice, the switch hitter clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. Began in balanced stance, had a small load and used a short stride right before his swing. Displays solid average bat speed, a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Behind the plate, he had a pop time of 2.21-2.36; Showed some accuracy to the bag with an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action. Firm hands and solid avg. lateral mobility. He recorded a 60 time of 7.9 at the event. 


 

 

 

 

 

Julian Gaige Starnes C / OF / Wagener-Salley, SC / 2020

5-foot-7, 170-pound lean frame; C/OF. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 87 mph. Displayed quick bat speed, as well as a level swing plane and a level finish. While catching, his pop time was 2.01-2.20; Showing decent accuracy to the bag, he used a high ¾ slot with a compact arm action. Good bend in the hips and strong receiving skills at the edges of the zone. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.43. Florence Darlington recruit. 

 

 

 

 

 

Anthony Storzieri 1B / 3B / Bluffton, SC / 2020

6-foot-2, 168-pound projectable frame; 1B/3B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 78 mph. Began in balanced stance with a small load, then used a short stride before his swing. Bat speed is above average, shows a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and a level finish. In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 68 mph across the field.  Used a side slot with a loose arm action. He recorded a time of 7.83 in the 60-yard dash. 


 

 

 

 

 

Jake Tanner SS / 2B / Camden, SC / 2020

6-foot-2, 160-pound projectable frame; SS/2B. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 85 mph. Began in balanced stance with a wrapping load, then used a short stride before his swing. Had a level swing plane and had a level finish. Developing bat to ball skills. Wants to use the middle of the field. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 77 mph.  Showed a side slot and a loose arm action. He clocked a time of 7.42 in the 60-yard dash. 


 

 

 

 

 

Jordan Thurmond OF / C / Rock Hill, SC / 2020

5-foot-10, 165-pound lean frame; OF/C high energy, good motor. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 81 mph. During setup, had a small load then used a leg kick  Displayed quick bat speed and a level swing plane, and he ended his swing with a high finish. Wants to use the pullside primarily.  When throwing from the outfield, he showed off his strong arm with throws at velocities of 88 mph; displayed sure hands, a clean exchange and quick footwork. Used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. He recorded a time of 7.08 in the 60-yard dash.
