Top Prospect Games - Player Analysis - 2021 Grads

The Top Prospect Games, originally scheduled for August 18th at the College of Charleston was rescheduled for the 31st. With impending weather the event was ultimately moved to Shipyard Park. The state of the art facility was able to host the event even with inclement weather moving through the area. The turf fields and indoor space were both used to evaluate all aspects of the event. Even with the inclement weather, schedule change, and location change over 45 of the top prospects from across the state showed up and showed out in front of the PBR scouting staff.

Donavan Accerbi RHP / 3B / Fort Dorchester, SC / 2021

5-foot-11, 210-pound mature frame; RHP/3B. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 78 mph. Has a wrapping load then uses a long stride  Has explosive bat speed and has a high finish. In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 77 mph across the field. Had a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 7.85. using a loose arm action he showed above average arm speed to the plate from a high ¾ arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows easy effort in his delivery.  Threw a 1/7 curveball with plus action. 


 

 

 

Andrew Bright SS / RHP / Byrnes, SC / 2021

5-foot-10, 165-pound athletic frame; SS/RHP. During batting practice, the switch hitter had an exit velocity of 84 mph. Starts in balanced stance with a quick load, then uses a short stride before his swing. Bat speed was rapid, used a level swing plane and a high finish. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 80 mph; had a twitchy exchange, sure hands and quick feet. Used a ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.56. where he showed quick arm speed to the plate, he used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Used easy effort in his delivery.   which showed plus action and some accuracy. Showed very consistent accuracy and slight action on fastball.


 

 

 

Benjamin Bledsoe RHP / OF / AIrport, SC / 2021

6-foot-1, 170-pound lean frame; RHP/OF. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 74 mph. Started in balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride right before his swing. Exhibited above average bat speed and a level swing plane. From the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 78 mph;had sure hands and a clean exchange. Used a ¾ slot and a compact arm action. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.54. On the mound, he used a high ¾ arm angle and a stiff arm action while showing above average arm speed to the plate. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher. His fastball was clocked at 70-71 mph; and topped out at 72 mph; has consistent accuracy. Throws a 2/8 curveball 64-66 that has some accuracy and sharp action. 

 

 

 

Zane Cook 3B / 1B / Camden, SC / 2021

5-foot-10, 200-pound sturdy frame; 3B/1B. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Sets up in open stance with a smooth load. Had quick bat speed and an upward swing plane, and he ended his swing with a high finish. In the infield, recorded a position velocity of 78 mph; had sure hands, a clean exchange and rhythmic footwork. Showed a loose arm action with None accuracy to the base. He recorded a 60 time of 8.5 at the event. 


 

 

 

Brandon Gibbs 2B / OF / Spring Valley, SC / 2021

5-foot-8, 140-pound slim frame; 2B/OF. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 84 mph. Had a small load and used a short stride  Exhibited rapid bat speed and a flat swing plane, and he ended his swing with a high finish. In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 80 mph across the field.  Used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.99. 


 

 

 

Cameron Howard C / 3B / Fort Dorchester, SC / 2021

5-foot-10, 200-pound sturdy frame; C/3B. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 83 mph. Setup included balanced stance and a wrapping load. Has an upward swing plane, above average bat speed and a high finish. Behind the plate, his pop time was 2.02-2.19; Used an-over-the-top slot with a compact arm action while showing some accuracy to the base. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 8.56. 


 

 

 

Parrish Jacobi SS / 2B / Wando, SC / 2021

 5-foot-8, 165-pound; SS/2B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 84 mph. Began in balanced athletic  stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride right before his swing. Had quick bat speed, a short swing plane and a level finish. In the infield, showed his ability to throw 75 mph across the diamond; displayed a clean exchange, rhythmic footwork and soft hands. Showed a short arm action and a ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 7.35. 


 

 

 

Coleman Jenkins C / 1B / Hanahan , SC / 2021

 6-foot-2, 190-pound solid frame; C/1B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 86 mph. Had a small load then used a long stride  Exhibited electric bat speed, as well as a level swing plane and a high finish. Behind the plate, his pop time was registered at 2.23-2.38; Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action and an-over-the-top slot. During the event, he recorded a 60 time of 7.8. 


 

 

 

Hayden Jennings C / 3B / John Paul II Catholic, SC / 2021

5-foot-7, 180-pound proportional frame; C/3B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 81 mph. Began in balanced stance, had a wrapping load and used a short stride. Bat speed is quick, uses a level swing plane and a high finish. While catching, he recorded pop times of 2.07-2.24; Had None accuracy to the base with a compact arm action. He recorded a time of 7.97 in the 60-yard dash. 


 

 

 

Daniel Keber SS / RHP / Hilton Head, SC / 2021

6-foot, 170-pound athletic frame; SS/RHP. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 80 mph. During setup, has a small load and a toe tap  Shows a straight-to-the-ball swing plane, as well as quick bat speed and a level finish. Showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 89 mph. Used a consistent arm action and a high ¾ slot while showing very consistent accuracy to the bag. He recorded a time of 7.23 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, showing above average arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle with a short arm action. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. He threw his fastball 82-84 mph; with a max of 85 mph; threw a tailing fastball with consistent accuracy and heavy action. His changeup (74-74 mph) worked best in combination with his fastball; throws a fading changeup that has plus action. His 70-72 mph curveball had depth when he located it low in the zone.

 

Nikolaus Laing 2B / OF / May River , SC / 2021

 5-foot-10, 150-pound lean frame; 2B/OF. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 79 mph. Had a quick load then used a short stride  Bat speed is quick, uses a level swing plane and a high finish. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 76 mph. Had a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 7.88.

 

 

Zackery Morillo OF / LHP / May River, SC / 2021

6-foot-3, 183-pound projectable frame; OF/LHP. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. Had a quick load and a short stride  Exhibited an upward swing plane and quick bat speed, and he ended his swing with good extension on his finish. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 67 mph; showed raw hands and rhythmic feet. In the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 74 mph;displayed developing footwork and a natural exchange. Used a stiff arm action with a high ¾ slot. He recorded a 60 time of 7.99 at the event. On the mound, using a stiff arm action he showed quick arm speed from an over-the-top arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows some effort in his delivery. He consistenly threw his curveball 64-66 mph with movement; curveball had sharp action. He can keep hitters off balance when he located his changeup (62-62 mph) low in the zone; has a fading tendencies. He was clocked sitting at 73-74 mph. 


 

 

 

Sydney Mullennix OF / RHP / Northwestern, SC / 2021

6-foot-3, 170-pound athletic frame; OF/RHP. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in tall stance with a small load, then uses a short stride to initiate his swing. From the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 81 mph;his exchange was quick and his feet were rhythmic. Showing consistent accuracy to the bases, he used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. He clocked a 60 time of 7.7 at the event. he showed a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with quick arm speed. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. shows very consistent accuracy and hard action on his running fastball.   which has plus action and decent accuracy. 


 

 

 

AJ Tolbert OF / 1B / Orangeburg Prep, SC / 2021

 6-foot-1, 200-pound sturdy frame; OF/1B. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed his power ability with an exit velocity of 90 mph. Begins in balanced stance, has a quick load and uses a short stride. Showed a flat swing plane and rapid bat speed, and he ended his swing with a level finish. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 73 mph.  From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 80 mph. Used an-over-the-top slot with a short arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.52.
