Dylan Hefflinger, PBR New England Editor in Chief/Scout, along with Dennis Healy/Trevor Brown, PBR New England Co-Directors of Scouting take a look back at the year in review and put together a list of the top stories for 2017.

No. 1 - New England 2017 Event Results

In 2017, PBR New England held around 40 showcases throughout the region. During these showcases we get to see who has improved over the past year, who came out of nowhere and who are some diamonds in the rough. With each of our showcases, we have four articles related to them; The Results, Top Performers, Sneak Peek and Complete Evaluations. In 2017 this was the No. 1 most viewed page and will likely be at or near the top spot in 2018.

No. 2 - Class of 2018 Player Rankings (March)

In March, we updated the Class of 2018 rankings and expanded them to 360+ prospects just before the start of the spring season. With each individual class, we look to update and expand the rankings 3-5 times each year.

No. 3 - Spring Team Preview

Leading up to the spring season, we always look to do previews for as many teams in the New England region as possible. We have been doing this since the inception of PBR New England and will always look to put an emphasis on highlighted high schools during the spring high school season. Look forward to us doing the same in 2018 over the next few months heading into the spring high school season.

No. 4 - Class of 2017 Player Rankings (March)

In March, we updated the Class of 2017 rankings and expanded them to 370 prospects just before the start of the spring season. This was our final 2017 rankings as these prospects were getting ready for their final high school season. That said a large number of prospects have gone on to play at the college level and we are enjoying following their progress over the next few years.

No. 5 - Class of 2019 Player Rankings (November)

Considering we had just updated the Class of 2019 Player Rankings just a month ago and seeing it at the No. 5 spot in the countdown should tell people how interested coaches/scouts are in this impressive class. The 2019 class has now been expanded to the Top 385 and we look forward to seeing many names come off the board to some prestigious universities.

When it comes to Showcases in the northeast corner of the United States, the MA/NH Top Prospect Games has been one to take note of. This showcase has been getting bigger and bigger each year while featuring some of the top talents in the region.

No. 7 - The New England Recruiting Trail

The recruiting trail is something that we take pride in, as the recruiting trail is a representation of the New England area and the prospects that we have in the region. Within the recruiting trail we highlight prospects who are "On the trail" (being recruited) as well as the prospects who are "Off the trail" (recently committed). Look for many more names within the 2018 recruiting trail all next year.

No. 8 - 2017 Future Games: Team New England

The Future Games is a one-of-a-kind event which features the best uncommitted underclass prospects from our 30-plus state coverage area. The Future Games will took place on August 2 - August 5 (Thursday-Saturday) at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN.

No. 9 - 2017 New England Scout Blog

From the start of the spring high school season to the end of fall ball and everything in between, the New England Scout Blog provides insider information, videos and scouting notes from the PBR Scouting Staff throughout the year. This running blog features information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable.

No. 10 - Early Signing Period Breakdown

The NCAA early signing period started November 8th, 2017 and ran through the 15th. With the fall signing period, we looked to break down each of the Division 1 and Division 2 universities in the region as well as Division 1 recruits headed outside of the Northeast. We highlight where they are headed and what tools they will bring with them.
