New England Insider: Class of 2019 Player Rankings (November)

With the winter season upon us, we take a look at the updated 2019 rankings. Over the summer and fall, we were able to see several new prospects while other players showed significant physical and skill development. Below, we look at “What’s New At The Top”, “Rising Prospects”, and some of the top uncommitted prospects.

We have seen numerous prospects over the summer fall at PBR events, local workouts and games from across the region, and a lot of time and thought put in from our staff with these updated rankings.

Covering six states, New England is a prime area for legit baseball talent. Below, we would like to bring to you the updated 2019 Player Rankings.

What's New at the Top

Daniel Baruch

The top of the rankings didn't change all that much, with nine of the top ten same prospects staying within the top 10. Bobby Zmarlzak made the most substantial move in the rankings up to the No. 2 spot.

  • Daniel Baruch stays on top of the rankings as he is headed for Boston College. The bat has plenty of life and he should provide power at Chestnut Hill.
  • Bobby Zmarlzak makes a significant jump in the rankings. The Maryland commit is really coming on in the eyes of the professional scouts.
  • Sebastian Keane is a long right-hander with a ton of upside. The Northeastern commit is a good looking arm to follow.
  • Chad Knight is a physical right-handed hitter headed to Duke who can really swing the bat.
  • Evan Moore and Henry Weycker round out the top of the rankings. The two are headed to Boston College and Virginia Tech respectively.

The Risers

Michael KennedyEvery year there are surprises in high school baseball. Some relatively unknown player takes a huge jump in talent and it impacts the game. These are just a few players that have made significant jumps at their respective showcases and games over the last couple months.

  • Bobby Zmarlzak, out of Westhill HS in Connecticut is a plus runner and the frame projects very well as he matures. Had a great fall campaign.
  • Keagan Calero, is an athletic right-handed hitting shortstop who took a jump in the rankings. Keagan recently verbally committing to Umass-Lowell.
  • Barry Walsh is a physical right-handed hitting outfielder who is headed to Boston College. Plenty of strength and life in barrel as he is aggressive in his approach.
  • Michael Kennedy, a right-handed pitcher from Shelton, CT has entered at the 44th spot. Kennedy attended the fall pitcher analysis and showed a fast, quick, clean arm, fastball reached 87 mph, with a 76-78 mph hard late breaking a slider. Big time arm.
