Scouting Reports

2/7/16 - Super 60 event - Hagan is a 6-foot-3, 215-pound switch-hitting 2-way player. At the Super 60 event; Hagan ran a 7.64 60-yard dash. Slightly open stance on both sides of the plate. Upright athletic set-up. Clean pat path through zone with gap to gap approach. Shows equal power from both sides of plate with ability to make consistent hard contact. Exit velocity off tee of 90 mph. Shows solid actions in outfield. Projects as a corner OF/1B defensively. Angles are appropriate and shows good glove. Long 1-piece arm action. Solid/avg. carry to target. Would benefit from greater extension out front on release. 88 mph arm strength. On the mound utilizes a slight tuck and turn delivery. Over-the-top slot with some head jerk on release and falls off to third base side. Uses strong frame to drive fastball downhill at 84-87 mph. Throws above average curveball at 76-78 mph with 12/6 rotation and tight spin. Changeup was firm with split-action at 82-83 mph. Overall shows strong frame, ability to hit from both sides of plate, has options as a corner outfielder/first baseman; and should be able to eat up innings at the college level.

10/15/15 - Hagan is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound switch-hitting 2-way player from Nebraska who is committed to Tulane. Physical build with strong lower half. Tall athletic stance on both sides of the plate with rhythm. Relatively new to pitching; his velocity has risen significantly on the mound; routinely throwing in the upper 80's with reports of touching higher. Intriguing prospect as a 2-way player in college with projection as a physical switch-hitting corner position player; or as a low mileage left-hander who has flashed arm strength on the mound.
