Trevor Putzig, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound shortstop from Ballard HS, has verbally committed to Tennessee Tech.

Putzig showed well at multiple PBR events, including the Pre-Season All State Showcase in February where he put his arm strength and bat speed on display by throwing 87 mph across the infield and registering an 88 mph exit velocity.

Putzig, ranked No.13 in Kentucky's 2014 class, becomes the first player in the class to commit to an out of state program.
