6/19/18- 6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #37 ranked player in MN 2019 class. 6.91 runner. Body load, short to contact, mid/pull approach, mostly fly ball contact, 83 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork, sure hands, flashes of actions, arm plays across infield, 79 mph arm strength across infield. On mound; athletic high leg kick, attacks zone, works downhill, and has extension to plate. Arm is fast, works bottom of zone well, fastball was 85-86 mph with late life for strikes. Above avg. breaking ball thrown at 75-78 mph, tight sin with late break. Solid changeup thrown at fastball arm speed with suitable fade and sink.

3/18/18- 6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. #58 ranked player in MN 2019 class. 6.93 runner. Open stance, easy leg kick trigger, rolling shoulder load, stays short to contact, barrels baseball consistently, solid line drive contact with gap to gap approach, 79 mph exit velocity. Solid actions in field, fields out front with sure hands, has clean exchanges with quick release and accuracy on throws, 82 mph arm across infield. On mound; step back into high athletic balance point, drives down mound, clean arm action from high ¾ slot. Fastball was 84-85 mph with running action and flashes of late life for strikes. Shows 11/5 shape on breaking ball with tighter spin. Firm changeup with late sink and avg. fade.

 

3/18/17- 6-foot, 135-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.45 runner. Shift weight onto back leg with shoulder load, spray contact, easy effort in swing, uses whole field, 81 mph exit velocity. Solid actions, clean exchanges with quick release, works through ball but stops to throw, solid accuracy to bag, 77 mph arm across infield. On mound; rocker step back, gets turned and balanced over rubber, long clean arm action with extension to plate. Fastball was 79-81 mph with solid life; showing late run and sink. Solid velo on 11/5 breaking ball with depth. Slows arm slightly on changeup; causing flat action to plate.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Mazur: South Dakota State University, UIC, North Dakota State University, Mankato State, Augustana, Grand View, 

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?

Mazur: I have visited UIC this past June. Going to be visiting SDSU, Augustana, and Mankato this month. And still trying to figure out a date for NDSU.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

 

Mazur: High academics, family feel throughout the baseball team, not too far away from home, and will be able to drive there. 

 

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?

Mazur: Pitching two 15 strikeout games, throwing a 1 hitter against White Bear Lake and shutting out Stillwater in our first home game. 

PBR: What are your goals for this year?

Mazur: Gain more velocity, more command of my pitches, and help our team make the State Tournament

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Mazur: Basketball

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

Mazur: GPA: 3.5. ACT: 25
