Scouting Report

8/11/18- 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting two-way player.  Good athlete.  Balanced square stance and high elbow start.  Small leg lift and good rhythm.  Gap to gap approach and flashes strong barrel.  Mainly ground ball and line drive contact.  91 mph exit velocity.  IF- Athletic moving to ball.  Glove flips out with average hands.  Makes routine play.  Good carry and accuracy on 83 mph arm strength.  On mound- Repeatable delivery with short quick arm action.  Works fastball 83-86 mph with downhill varying action.  Curveball is 68-71 mph with 11/5 break thrown hard with late break and good shape.  Change-up has fade action thrown at 76-77 mph. 

3/18/18- 5-foot-11, 185-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Worked 87-88 mph with a compact delivery and short arm action. Shorter, narrow shouldered frame. Changeup was a solid pitch at 76-77 mph. Breaking ball flashed late heavy break with 11/5 shape. Secondary pitches are still developing but there is arm strength and he has a polished delivery and should continue to develop. 7.28 runner. Square stance, balanced stride, shoulder turn to load, clean path, spray contact, gap to gap approach, flashes hard line drive contact to middle of field, 84 mph exit velocity. Agile in field, works down to up, sure hands with soft glove, solid overall actions, carry and accuracy to bag, 81 mph arm across infield.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

 Baker: NDSU, SDSU, the local schools in Minnesota as well as Junior Colleges. 

 
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? 

 Baker: I have not taken any official visits yet 

 
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)  

 Baker: I am undecided in my major but have interest in business or finance.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?  

Baker: I posted a sub 1.0 ERA all season (.85) only allowed an earned run in one game all season. I also had 71 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched with a WHIP of .97

PBR: What are your goals for this year?  

Baker: I hope to go all season without an earned run allowed. And lead my team through another great season and hopefully make another run at the state tournament.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?  

 Baker:  I also play hockey.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?

My ACT is 19 and my GPA is 3.6
