Smith is a lanky 5-foot-11, 150-pound outfielder. At the plate, Smith has a balanced stance with a smooth load. He keeps his hands inside the ball, and at times showed some barrel whip and glimpses of power. His swing stays level through extension and was able to hit the ball to all fields. With a bit more use of his lower half, Smith should be able to drive the ball with more consistency.

In the outfield, Smith takes good angles to the ball with accurate throws, all on a line to the target.

Additionally, Smith ran a 5.19 40 and 4.61 home to first.
