Unsigned Senior Showcase Less Than Two Weeks Away

By Mike Penn
Director of Scouting

The Unsigned Senior Showcase at Albion College on January 27th is shaping up to be a really good event. There is certainly plenty of talent left on the board in Michigan. With this in mind, here are three righthand pitchers who will all be attending the showcase.  They are already on the boards of a few schools and will continue to draw interest.

Sam Shutes (Three Rivers HS)- Shutes is a big righty who was recently featured in an Unsigned Senior Spotlight. Expect Shutes to be 84-88mph.  He may even bump a 90mph mark, if not now certainly in the spring. He already has started to draw interest from schools and we don't expect it to stop.

Brady Hardin (Detroit Catholic Central HS)- Hardin recently attended a camp at the South Oakland A's facility where he touch 89mph.  The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Hardin three a three hit complete game against Brother Rice HS last season when Rice was ranked No. 1 in the state.  We are excited to see Hardin in person and get a feel for his secondary pitches.

Sean Calender (Berkley HS)- Calender will show both on the mound and in the infield at the Unsigned Senior.  He is another 6-foot-3, 190-pound pitcher who should show well.  He threw a no-hitter this past season and will be interesting to follow.  Lastly Calender is a good student with a 27 ACT.
