Unsigned Senior Showcase: Outfield Analysis

The PBR Tennessee unsigned senior showcase took place last Sunday at Maryville College and afforded Class of 2015 players still looking to play at the next level the opportunity to showcase their abilities to our staff and numerous college coaches.

The following is analysis of the outfielders from the event.

Matthew Brubaker, 2015, Loudon HS, OF
The 6 foot 1,185 pound prospect posted a 7.14 60 time and had a position velocity of 74 mph. Defensively Brubaker has natural instincts with fluid footwork, showed average arm strength and soft hands. Showed accuracy throwing from the outfield. Offensively Brubaker has average bat speed with an 80 mph exit velocity off the tee. Brubaker hits from an open setup from the left side of the plate with a leg kick, has average balance and is a line drive type hitter who uses all fields. He has a strong and athletic frame.

David McDaniel, 2015, Lenoir City HS, OF
The 6 foot 2, 205-pound prospect posted a 7.53 60 time and had a position velocity of 67 mph. Defensively McDaniel showed below average arm strength and average hands, plays through the ball well with some aggressiveness. Offensively McDaniel showed average bat speed and posted a 75 mph exit velocity off the tee from the right side. Has a balanced setup with a short stride but has a tendency to wrap his bat at times creating some length to his swing. Showed average balance and a long path to the ball.

Christian Millwood, 2015, Knoxville West HS, OF
The 5 foot 10, 170-pound prospect posted a 7.01 60 time and had a position velocity of 74 mph. Defensively Millwood has average arm strength, shows a hesitant, two-handed approach to the ball,  Had a long exchange and flat footwork. Offensively Millwood had 84 mph exit velocity off of the tee, hits from a balanced setup from the right side with a leg kick, long uphill swing path with some balance issues at times.

Gage Seymour, 2015, Fulton HS, OF
The 6 foot, 180-pound prospect posted a 7.07 60 time and had a position velocity of 76 mph. Defensively Seymour showed good athletic ability and has natural instincts in the outfield. Has average arm strength and hands with inconsistent accuracy on throws. Offensively Seymour has average bat speed with an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee from the right side. Hits from a balanced setup with average balance, showed an opposite field approach in his round of batting practice.

Bradley Whymer,2015, Soddy Daisy HS, OF
The 6 foot 1 , 170 pound prospect posted a 6.81 60 time and had a 71 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively Whymer showed below average arm strength. Had a clean exchange and was inconsistent on his throwing accuracy . Offensively Whymer has average bat speed from the right side and had a 84 mph exit velocity off of the tee. Hits from a balanced setup with no load. Showed some length in swing with opposite field tendencies.
