Scouting Report

10/10/18 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. Skov has always shown well in game action as a solid receiver/blocker and showed improved (79 mph) arm strength behind the plate with 2.01-2.13 second pop time. Throws tended to sink to arm side and getting better backspin/carry would bring down times significantly. Skov has a knack for finding the barrel for hard line drive contact. Not really a showcase tools type, but has clearly been working hard as he took by far the best round of batting practice we've seen from him, making hard line drive contact from LF over to RCF. It’s a simple swing with very few moving parts that has consistently translated to games. 84 mph exit velocity wasn’t indicative of the type of contact he made during BP. The elite student (4.54 GPA, 1330 SAT) could be a fit for programs at a number of levels depending on need. Posted 7.44 second 60-yard dash.

6/27/18 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. Strong, compact build. Offensively hit from an athletic, open stance. Swing can get a bit disconnected at times but Skov always shows the ability to barrel in game action; 77 mph exit velocity. Skov always impresses behind the plate and this day was no different posting pop times ranging from 2.00 - 2.11 seconds with a 77 mph catcher velocity. Did not cheat out of the crouch at all on his throws, clean transfer, solid footwork, impressive arm speed. Also ran an above average 60-yard dash for his position at 7.14 seconds. Will help someone at the next level.

11/12/17 - Solid all-around prospect. Very similar testing data to the Fall Prospect Showcase. Can help college program behind the plate and on offense. Plays with elite energy.

10/29/17 – 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame with some strength in upper body and athletic lower half; 7.20 60-yard dash. Hits from wide, balanced setup and shows solid bat speed and a path that keeps the barrel in the zone. Front side tends to get soft at times. Made solid contact in BP and will be able to drive the ball more consistently as he learns to firm up his front side through his swing. Athletic receives and blocker showed solid carry on throws turning in a best pop of 1.99 with 78 mph velocity from the crouch.

10/21/17 - 5-foot-11 160-pounds. Looks bigger and stronger than his listed weight. Made consistent hard contact on the weekend. Hits with high back elbow and leg lift trigger, generating good hip rotation and some bat speed. Received well and excelled blocking balls in the dirt. Throws to second carried well and were generally accurate, posting a 2.04 pop. Plays very hard.
