Scouting Report: (8/16/15) - The 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect posted a 6.85 60 time and had a 79 mph position velocity from the outfield. Defensively, Montgomery has short arm action, slower exchange, average arm strength, fluid footwork, and natural instincts in the outfield. Offensively, Montgomery has solid bat speed from the right side and had an 82 mph exit velocity off the tee. Hits from a balanced setup, has a slight leg kick, good balance, level path, shows swagger at the plate, and had a great round of BP. Montgomery went 0-for-2 during game play having to leave after game one of the event.
Analysis: Montgomery is a projectable athlete with baseball skills who has yet to reach his ceiling. The junior college route could be a great fit for him, giving him time to add to his frame and reach his full potential on the field. He is a very intriguing uncommitted prospect from the 2016 class.
