Scouting Director – Illinois/Wisconsin
Jack Holden is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound two-way player from Schaumburg HS. He hits and throws from the left side and recently showed improved skills on the field. Holden brings athleticism to the diamond, both in the field and on the mound. In the outfield he has shown well above average footwork attacking the baseball. Holden also runs a 6.84 60 and has arm strength from the outfield at 84 mph.
Offensively he hits with loose hands and makes contact with a flat path through the zone. His hands work well and he finds the barrel with regularity producing line drives to all fields.
Holden also has upside on the mound, his fastball hovers at 79-80 mph from the left side with an 11/5 curveball and a changeup with arm side action.
Holden has already been receiving interest from several schools in the area including Elmhurst, Rockford, Concordia, and Monmouth. He has also been contacted by Eastern Illinois, Eastern Michigan and University of San Diego.
He has also been making his visits as well. According to Holden he has visited Elhurst, Concordia, Oakland College and Daytona State College.
“I am looking for a school with a criminal justice program. Also baseball wise I am looking for program that can help take me to the next level after college. I want to be comfortable and feel very relaxed at the college I commit to. I want to play in warmer weather so going as far south as I can appeals to me. I would want to play either D1 or JUCO. Junior college really catches my attention because there are some really good junior colleges out there and I know they can help me get to the next level,” said Holden.
