Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Jameson Lavery

Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Wisconsin

Jameson Lavery (Parkview HS, 2013) accomplished something last year that is rarely seen in baseball, throwing a no-hitter. But he didn’t just do it once, or even twice, he tossed three no-hitters in the same season, and not only in the same season but over the span of four starts, and not only over the span of four starts, but four of the biggest starts of his career, leading up to the Div. 3 State Championship game at Fox Cities Stadium.

Lavery’s third no-hitter came in Parkview’s semifinal game where he retired the final 17 batters he faced while striking out 10.

In 2012 Lavery put up an impressive line on the season, recording 111 strikeouts in 79 1/3 innings pitched. He posted a 1.47 ERA with a 6-4 record.

Lavery is an athletic right handed pitcher who operates with a clean arm action out of a high ¾ arm slot. He shows good balance and rhythm, pounding the strike zone well as shown by his 111 strikeouts.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound right handed pitcher will be pitching for a senior heavy Parkview Viking roster that is looking to return to the State Championship game and revenge their loss to Prescott HS.

All eyes will certainly be on Lavery at the start of the 2013 season to see if he can pick up right where he left off and continue his no-hit string.
