Tom Banahan, RHP, Lexington Catholic HS, Class of 2013

Today’s player spotlight is on unsigned senior Tom Banahan, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound RHP from Lexington Catholic HS.

Banahan has a large frame, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, and shows good command of his 82-84 mph fastball that shows some run and sink.  He shows solid, repeatable mechanics with long limbs that contribute to his long arm action.  He throws a 67-69 mph, 12/6 curveball that shows good action down in the zone.  Banahan has good mound presence and an idea of how to get hitters out as he consistently attacks the strike zone.

Look for Banahan to play a key role on the mound as the Knights look for another 30+ win season and try to advance out of the always tough 11^th region to get to the state tournament.
