Updated Class of 2014 Rankings

By Chris Valentine
PBR Ohio Scouting Director

With the high school season and the first month of summer baseball behind us, the PBR Ohio staff has updated the Class of 2014 rankings for the State of Ohio.

Over the past three months, we have scouted hundreds of high school baseball games. Already this summer, over 140 of the top prospects from around the state competed in the Top Prospect Games in front of more than 110 scouts. And, every week, members of the PBR scouting staff have been attending tournaments and showcases across the state.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy right-handed pitcher Cameron Varga continues to hold down the top spot for Ohio and the Midwest region.

Despite not playing this high school season, power hitting first baseman Zack Shannon still holds down the second spot behind Varga. Kentucky recruit Riley Mahan maintains the third spot while Mentor right-handed pitcher and Louisville recruit Kade McClure jumps to the fourth spot. Gahanna Lincoln first baseman and Kentucky recruit Evan White rounds out of the top five.
