The start of the high school season brings forth updated player rankings for the State of Michigan.

Today, we lead off with the Class of 2014.

After a standout performance at the Super 60 in February, Hudsonville LHP Keegan Baar (Michigan State recruit) makes the jump to No. 1. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound southpaw put together an impressive performance sitting 90-91 mph with an 81-82 mph changeup and a 76-77 mph slider. He improved his draft stock as much as any player from Michigan at the event.

To no fault of his own, West Bloomfield's Dazon Cole (Central Michigan recruit) slips to No. 2. The athletic two-way prospect offers the speed, strength, and versatility that will garner the attention of area MLB scouts this spring.

Meanwhile, Brother Rice RHP Matt Ruppenthal (Vanderbilt recruit) jumps back into the top five at No. 3. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound hurler showed off a 90-92 mph fastball with good arm side run at the Super 60. The future Commodore complemented his fastball with an arsenal of off-speed pitches, including a hard 80-81 mph cutter.
