Updated Team Rankings for the Week of April 9th



With two weeks of the season complete and most spring break trips concluded, teams from across the state are beginning to settle into their conference schedules. Still, many programs continue to mix in challenging non-conference games to provided some added spice to their schedule. 

Division I/II Team Rankings

1. Grove City High School (8-0) takes over the top spot in this week's rankings. The Greyhounds made a cinderella run into the Division I State Final Four last June, and they have continued to build off last year's momentum. The team returns senior Mitchell Stephens and junior Drew Artrip, their top two pitchers from last season. The defense is anchored by senior shortstop Jimmy Gravett, senior centerfielder Tyler Kent and two excellent defensive catchers in senior Nick Davis and junior Drew Nankivell. The Greyhounds will continue to be challenge in a difficult conference that features #27 Gahanna Lincoln, #34 Pickerington North, and Pickerington Central.

2. Strongsville (7-1) dropped a tough game on the road against Moeller. With a deep lineup and pitching staff, the Mustangs will be in it for the long haul.

3. Defiance (7-1) dropped the back-end of a three-way double header to #50 Bryan, but still shows an impressive resume at this point in the season. With a talented roster and the state's top 1-2 pitching combo, Defiance will continue to be favored as the top Division II team in the state.

4. Massillon Jackson (8-1) notched their first loss of the season after splitting a league series with #14 North Canton Hoover, who has jumped up the rankings. 

5. Centerville (9-1) suffered their first loss of the season, but continues to put together an impressive resume, including a 1-0 win over #19 Loveland.

Division III/IV Team Rankings

1. Keystone (6-1) continues to hold on to the top spot. With Brandyn Sittinger (Marshall recruit) and Caleb Shillace (Toledo recruit) on the mound, they will be tough to beat.

2. Lake (8-0-1) enters and jumps straight towards the top of the rankings with an impressive resume, including recent wins over Wauseon.

3. CHCA (6-1) maintains their hold on the #3 spot after another strong week.

4. Carlisle (10-1) maintains their hold on the #4 spot after another strong week. 

5. Defiance Tinora (9-1) maintains their hold on the #5 spot after another strong week.
