Updated Wisconsin Power 25 Team Rankings

The week ahead may hold some inclimate weather in the forecast which could limit some action across the state, but here’s a couple match-ups to look forward to: On Wednesday, No. 22 Oshkosh West will attempt to continue their march through Power 25 teams as they take on No. 12 Hortonville. A win there could catapult the Wildcats way up the rankings.

The feature of the week probably comes on Saturday with a three-way round-robin doubleheader for No. 3 Kimberly, No. 6 Arrowhead, and No. 11 Wilmot all taking place at the Wilmot Sports Complex.

Also, this coming weekend kicks off the Woodside High School Challenge on April 6 and 7 where over 30 teams will play at the all-turf complex in Mauston. Both No. 4 Eau Claire Memorial and No. 18 Eau Claire North will be two of the featured teams from the Power 25.

POWER 25 MATCHUPS

  • No. 22 Oshkosh West earned their keep in the Preseason Power 25 with a 4-1 win over No. 5 Green Bay Preble on Thursday. West will look to keep their momentum going this week with another Power 25 matchup with Hortonville.

WRONG FOOT

  • No. 10 Waupun lost their opener to St. Mary’s Springs, 2-1, in a well-pitched game. Waupun lost all-stater Drew Behling from the middle of the lineup and it showed in their opening loss as they managed just three hits.

  • No. 15 Webster took a heartbreaking loss to Hillsboro in their opener as the Tigers had a two-run lead in the 7th but couldn’t hold on, surrendering five runs in the top half of the inning.

THE QUICK STARTERS

  • No. 2 Janesville Craig, No. 9 Catholic Memorial, No. 13 West De Pere, No. 14 Middleton, and No. 20 Beloit Turner are all 2-0.

  • The Crusaders of Catholic Memorial are off to a torrid start, outscoring their first two opponents by a total of 36-1.

  • No. 19 Antigo has avoided the poor weather early this season. They’ve played four games already and are 3-1, after splitting a double header with Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln.

2-0 AND ON THE BUBBLE

  • Union Grove, Jefferson, Oshkosh North are all teams to keep an eye on because they’re fast approaching heavy consideration for the Power 25 after their 2-0 starts to the spring.
